Malt Barley Value Chain Financing - Pilot and Scale-Up Activities

Brief overview

This project focuses on scaling up the Lersha agent network through a multi-stage process encompassing agent onboarding, stakeholder review, harvest and aggregation planning, and finance and payment management. The onboarding process includes identifying existing and potential agents, filtering and refining candidate lists, preparing onboarding materials and logistics, and conducting the onboarding itself, followed by weekly progress monitoring and quality checks. Stakeholder review meetings are conducted to refine project plans and logistics. Harvest and aggregation activities involve finalizing data collection tools, quality checking agent data, planning logistics, onboarding mechanization service providers and local stakeholders, and creating awareness among farmers. Finally, the project manages fund repayments, field day payments, insurance onboarding for new areas, and conducts crop cutting experiments.
